The Blue bank in Project EUROPE, pt.3.
At a lecture in a tourist cowshed in GranCanaria.
There are scattered peripheral settlements in many places.
These days we are participating in the European project "Project EUROPE", which is an ERASMUS+ project and managed by Austan Mána ( https://www.eastofmoon.com/ ).
Different scenarios and solutions are covered in scattered settlements, many of which have similar challenges.
What is interesting is that in most places similar steps are being taken towards a goal, and the goal is often the same but there is a different way to get there.
Sustainable, even growing villages are something that is being worked on.
The challenges are many:
-Infrastructure afterwards.
-Regulations expensive/doubtful for smaller settlements.
-Fewer opportunities than in denser settlements.
This part of the event series takes place in Gran Canaria, where the tourism industry has had a lasting impact on the traditions, environment and lives of the inhabitants.
Previously, a workshop was held in Sardinia, then in Blábankan, here in GranCanaria and then this winter in Madeira.
Armies are thus unserved settlements where people feel they are voiceless participants in a larger game.
A game they didn't agree to be a part of.
There are so many parallels with our region and it is interesting to compare and find ways.
